A good friend of mine owns a son of Frenchmans Fabulous. He a super nice boy, would never know he was a stud at the barrel races and all of his babies have the same kind eye and dis
position as him! you can check him out at

Mines the biggest pain in the **** ass. I was just telling somebody today that our entire lives are centered around that stupid horse. We want to sell our property and buy something else....someone asked why we didn't just buy land and build....I said we can't because we need something already set up to deal with him.
But.....there isn't enough money in the world that I would sell him for now. He's getting older
(will be 12 soon
). He's made way more money then equistat can put on there
(too many races that don't report
). Just last year he earned over 4k.
And we can give the niece and nephews pony rides on him at the barn.
Don't really get much nicer then that.

Is there a difference with mares vs geldings?
I don't think so. My mare is really quiet and she is appendix and all the geldings seem nice too. The top notch fabs seem to be mares but maybe he just has thrown more? I know what you mean though. I normally like fillies but the last two studs I bred to the colts are a lot better so I was glad I got two colts. There are still multiple mares that go to nfr by the one stud but have heard they are hot and quirky.

I have weanling that's very laid back and mellow. He's build big and thick. Not to mention he's palomino. I am toying with idea of selling him, because it going to be another 15 months before he can be broke to ride. This is him at 3 months old.

I tried to have two, back when I was having so much trouble getting my mares to NOT absorb the fetus sometime after getting a heartbeat. I can say that Kenny Nichols is great to deal with. I originally contacted him about one of his babies and then we got to talking about the mare that I was having the most trouble getting to carry to term. He actually asked about buying her because of her breeding
(she was a daughter of Strawfly Special out of a daughter of DFC with Lady Bugs Moon ON her papers on the very bottom side
). He gave me some advice as to getting her settled
(which worked the following year
) and sent me semen for TWO mares when they both came in at the same time. Told me that he wouldn't charge me anything unless they settled....unfortunately that year, they did not. What more can you ask for? I did end up sending a check for a decent amount of earnest money which he then offered to put towards the purchase of one of his babies.
This was vastly different attitude and treatment I received from the owners of FF's sire. They basically took my $$ and that they didn't want to "waste" their stud on a "junk" mare
(because we couldn't get her settled....she was one that required live cover in the end.
)
If I ever broke down and decided to breed I would not hesitate breeding to Fab, after losing the above mentioned mare 3 weeks after foaling I decided that I would never breed a mare that I really liked again.

I bred my 1D Brimmerton mare to him and shes due around April fools day! I picked Fab as my #1 choice because I've read great things how smart his babies are and freakishly athletic. I think breeding to Fab is a win win situation. They all seem to have excellent resell value as well. Also working with Kenny was great. He sure makes you feel that your mare is a priority to him!
