Looking for someone great in or around the TX panhandle. I like a fancy handle. A reiner/cutter/cowhorse trainer or someone with that background. Any suggestions?

Are you looking for a colt starter or someone to put a handle on him (meaning already green broke). Generally there is no handle put on a colt during breaking and most performance trainers don't take colts to break anymore. If you are looking for a really good cowhorse/versatility trainer for several months to put on a foundation and handle, we may have a spot in Midland, TX. We don't have any openings for breaking, but I can refer you to a friend of ours that will do you a good job, if that is what you are looking for.

I'm looking for someone to break a colt. Put the first 30-90 days on them with a foundation that will lead to a fancy handle. While I understand they are all individuals, at 60-90 days I feel they should have a good stop, know leads, have decent transitions, turn on their hind end, turn on their forehand, have hip control at a walk/maybe trot, sidepass, move laterally, hold a lope in a small circle. I don't expect them to have all these skills mastered or do them with speed, but I want someone that starts the horse with at least all these maneuvers. I want all the buttons installed, and I will fine tune them. ;) I was disappointed in my last experience, and the colt certainly had the ability and mind to accomplish them.

Also, I'm looking for the future...months from now. Trying to do my research now so I have a plan.

Josey Groves in Canyon - if she doesn't she might know of someone

Kirsten Pohnert (flybynight), Becki Mask (scootnfast), and Tammy Goldston (overnunder) might know of someone

Steve McConnell in Hereford used to I think - not sure if he still does

Stacia Burnett. She has extensive history in cutters, reining horses and even barrel horses. She has several videos on her youtube site. If you weren't highly satisfied with her I would nearly pay your bill I'm so confident in her! Your horses come back broke but not broken down and healthy, shiny, etc. 806-220-3663 is her number (hopefully she doesn't kill me for giving it out so publically) ;)
