I have questions about barrel racing blood lines and foundation bloodlines ! I want to know if i should go foundation bred or barrel racing bred but I'm having a hard time finding horses that are barrel racing bred. I don't mind hot horses i enjoy them because I'm a calm rider. I want opinions information on them , whatever you got ! I want to learn! TIA

It is really a matter of what you get along with.
I have found that I don't get along with some running bloodlines because a lot of them don't have a whole lot going on between the ears but I like the natural ability and graceful movement that a lot of them have
On the other end of the spectrum, I "click" with most of the cow bred horses I've been around because they tend to be smarter, but they also tend to be shorter and choppier to ride
I wish there was a Build-A-Barrel Horse Workshop so I could get just what I want lol

**EDITED TO ADD**
These are my personally-discovered generalizations and in no-way represent the categories of the bloodlines as a whole

I guess I don't know how to define "barrel racing" bloodlines. Majority of horses are race bred or cow bred. Firewater Flit, Frenchman's guy are horses I would consider "barrel bred" but they all come from either running or foundation.

If you are a quiet rider, a lot of people prefer a more running blood type horse as they are more free running. Cowbred generally speaking tend to be more push style. I personally was raised riding cowbred and am a more aggressive rider. I get along better with a push style.

Are there some bloodlines specifically you are interested in?

Yes there are a lot of barrel racing bloodlines and not . I honestly enjoy hot horses who want to do their job as well . I guess forward moving is a better explanation for it rather than 'Hot' . But I'm just looking for knowledge and opinions on the bloodlines. I know those are more of the mainstream ones but I'm just looking for a good horse that will take me places with rodeo/barrel racing.

Do a search for the thread called 'Bloodline Stereotypes'

It's like 6 pages long, I bet you'll find a lot of info on several, if not all of these lines you listed.

Buy the best colt you can afford. People say "you can't ride the papers" yea well futurity, rodeo, and equistat proves that you dang sure do ride the papers when it comes to earnings.

Buy for what your wanting to do. Yes cow ponies can do the job, yes every now and then a good appy or paint will take your money, and yes grade horses can do the job BUT all of these are outliers.

Buy a colt that ppl have spent years of careful breeding and selective in order to build it for a certain job.

I'm different and I like to pick not so common bloodlines for barrel racing.  I buy what I can afford, and mostly that is not anything name brand.  But I have some nice hroses and feel pretty luck.

I think this is the one I am most excited about.  He is just a yearling but he has that look and attitude about him.  Will be fun to see how he turns out.

I agree. Check out that thread.

I personally don't get along with TEJ - I have ridden several and they are bit too stubborn for my liking. Hollywood Dunit horses are extremely athletic and the ones I have ridden are very quiet. They are typically a more push style horse but I have seen more than enough speed out of them.

DFC - I don't think you can go wrong there. That name speaks for himself.
FDD - tend to be a little hotter than I prefer, more free- runners but a lot of people have good luck with them.
Peptoboonsmal - also very athletic - tend to me small, even smaller than most cowbreds from my experience but naturally athletic. Good minded.

I have not ridden a FG but live my sunfrost grandbaby.
