For some, $3500 is a lot for a prospect. Plus with your $0 price and practically  nonexistent description it's fair to make offers.

I just took off the detailed information which showed what the the sire and dam produced and how well behaved this mare is. Having all that information didn't stop the low offers(low in my opinion). Now I'm hoping someone with a good eye notice what a nice horse she is.

I was also told that it's a bad idea for me to be the riding her in the video, that i should have a lady riding her. Which i hope is not true

First of all, paints just don't sell well. APHA treats solid color paints like step children. Not trying to be ugly but if that is what the horse can do $3500 is a fair price. There was a three year old recently advertised for $8500 that looked real shiney on barrels and poles. He FINALLY sold.

What a nice mare.  I don't see why you would need to have a lady riding her.  Don't be offended, I wouldn't be.  That may be all someone has to offer and figure if you don't get her sold you might would take that.  She is so broke...I hope you get what you are asking.  Oh and I also meant to say a lot of times people price one a lot higher than what they will really take.  Hang in there.

Nice horse.
You ride nice and quiet with soft hands. It makes no difference who is riding the horse..it makes a difference how you are riding her.

Honestly, if I were shopping I would go right past your ad. No price doesn't tell me if what I'm willing to spend is anywhere near what you're asking. And without any description I have no idea what your horse is. If you want to sell, you've got to market. Talk up your horse, tell the buyers why your horse is worth the price that you're asking. And provide info about sire and dam. Maybe it's just slipped my mind, but I haven't heard of the sire, so tell who he is, what he's done, and what he's produced. Same with the dam. If I'm buying a prospect I want to know what kind of odds the horse has at being a performer, so info about sire and dam are important. Videos are hard, especially when you're trying to fit in everything you want to share in a short amount of time. I know, I've been getting videos on sale horses too! What I've learned is that most people just want to see how they travel, so I work a decent sized circle and walk about half a lap, trot one or two, then lope two or three. Follow that up with a stop, back, and then do a pivot and do it all again the other direction. I watched your entire video because you asked for input, but if I had just been browsing ads I probably would have quit watching after a little over a minute. Keep it short and sweet so that you don't lose the attention of buyers.

I hope that all of this comes across as helpful and not critical! Selling horses, especially higher priced horses, takes time and requires good marketing of the horse. Just tweaking your ad a little bit should help.

Read some more comments. If the mare is patterned or started on the pattern, get a video of that as well. Also saw it mentioned that she is APHA. And I have to agree, paints just don't seem to carry the value of quarter horses. We were just having that discussion last night. I don't do paints for that reason alone. Not saying they aren't as good as quarter horses, that's just the reality of the market.

I think $3500 to $4500 is not a bad price for this mare. And the fact that someone offered you $3500 just based on your ad with no listed price was pretty good. Paints and breeding stock at that just don't sell well unfortunately but that price range for that mare is about what you would be looking at in my area.

Good luck:) She is a pretty girl.
