I didn't waste my time watching the Academy Awards but checked out the Memoriam and sadly found that three of my old television cowboy heroes had passed away last year.  Most of you probably aren't old enough to remember them but dang they were good looking guys and so fun to watch.

Peter Brown played Johnny McKay in Lawman, Robert Horton was Flint McCullough in Wagon Train and James Stacy was in the Lancer western series.  They all rode horses well and that's something I appreciate in a cowboy actor.

Those were a little before my time, but now I'm gonna go look them up. It's so sad when the good older actors pass away. . .

There were a lot of great westerns in the 60's and 70's popular on television.  Bonanza, High Chapparel, The Virginian, Have Gun Will Travel, Rawhide, Wanted Dead or Alive, Laredo, Laramie, The Big Valley......sadly most of the stars of these westerns have passed.   We did love our westerns.
