Looking for something to relieve a little gate anxiety for my horse.  No physical problems.  Just need to help him relax a little.

I give Pozzi relax, and avoid the gate until my run.

I love Animal Element in the Zone paste you give it about 45 minutes before run and it last about 4 hours! It goes not givebthrm that "drugged" effect. Does not test and is all natural
Pm me for more info!

I used to use Focus by OxyGen and liked it. A friend used to get lavender oil and put a couple drops in her horse's nostrils. She swore by it. My horse's issues stemmed from ulcers so I use Gastro-Plex now, but the Focus made a little difference in him. I think if his issue was just anxiety it would have helped more.

I have used GastroPlus in the past with good results. I currently have one that gets stressed at the gates, and I happened to have some JailBreak on hand so I decided to give it a try. It seemed to help with his loose stools.

But I think the biggest thing is management. I have had several that get anxious at the gate, and I've learned that the best thing to do is stay away until our run. They know they're going in to work and anticipate it, so prevent that from happening until it's time to run. I saddle and warm up just a few drags before mine, then get off and relax until my drag. Hand walk to get close, then get on a few before my run. Some horses can camp out by the gate all day long and not have a problem, and some need more of a warm up. Play around with your routine to see if you can find the right schedule that works for your horse.

Another thing I do is hang a hay bag for them at the trailer. They will munch on that so their stomachs aren't empty, which I think is also important.

I've just started giving mine equisure before we run and I noticed a difference. They seem less edgy and their stools are not so loose. ( my guys are not stupid at the gate but they can get a bit tense).

I do have a routine before I run. I warm them up, then get off and walk around. A few drags before our turn I got by the gate and hang out until it is our time to run. It works for us so far!

Good luck!
