Can we compare these two?   What exactly is the difference?
Omnis has flax seed and a softer cube is the only difference i know of so far.

Which would you choose and why?

Omnis cubes have the actual oats; the Hay Rite cubes are alfalfa and oat hay, to my understanding.

My horse can't handle oats or I would still be feeding the Omnis. Flax and a softer cube is  a huge bonus. My horse won't eat the hard cubes and he has all of his teeth so I went back to the Sally Mustang cubes from the same company.

I feed the Hay-Rite mini alfalfa cubes that are straight alfalfa no oats. I feed with Renew Gold. I have 4 horses including a 20 year old and they love them. You need to feed them on ground level though. I wet them in the summer but most of the time they eat them dry. I was feeding alfalfa pellets and the old mare kept coughing and choking but she has no problem with the cubes. I don't think they are that hard as I can break them with my old arthritic hands. I haven't tried the Omni's to compare tho.

Omnis has oats mixed in, HayRite minicube can be purchased as straight alfalfa or with oat hay mixed in.

I quit the Omnis due to an issue I was having with horses not eating it well, as well as finding ground up hay strings in it.

I went with HayRite products and I like them much better. Horses have yet to have a problem eating them, you can still break the cubes with your hands.

I also feed the Complete pellet to my pasture horses and am thrilled with their body condition.

I find the Hay-Rite cubes way to hard -- as  in it takes 20 strikes with a hammer to break one.  Does not work for an old horse with chewing issues.

I can not get my main horse to eat the Omnis cubes.  I have tried three different times.  Oh...   he will eat them reluctantly if I hand feed them like a treat or if I leave some in his stall he will nibble & pick at them for a little while.  But he will then dump the bucket and refuse to eat anymore.  Returned the unopened bag to the feed store yesterday.  My other two will eat them ok, but they are not the ones that need them.  Would be so much easier than alfalfa hay.  Considered trying the HayRite cubes but they are not that easily accessible for me.

I had the same issue with my mare. Every other horse on the property which is 9 of them will eat them no questions asked.. but my main horse won't touch them. I've tried anything I can think of other than starving her and forcing it. I don't get it. So now my 24 year old gelding gets to eat them as his grain. He loves them but he doesn't need any extra alfalfa or weight..

Hey Tdove, is there a reason the bags have to be cut open now?  My barn scissors are apparently dull as crap and I was cussing these bags the other day.
