Should you start thinking about injecting.  The 10 year old gelding that my granddaughter runs  is still running well and mostly in the 1D.  I think he has slowed just a tick and am thinking it may be that time.  He has had some issues with thin soles that we have dealt with and appears sound not but we have not had him lameness tested for any type of injections.

I don't think there is an "age" you start injecting. Go in for a lameness exam and go from there.

I inject a 6 yr old because he needs it but my 9 and 11 yr old get nothing. If they need it, they get it. Injections aren't always long term and I really don't understand the fear of them.
