Anyone dealt with this? A friend of mine horse did this the vet pretty good and he didn't offer much. Not sure when it happened. Vet said not much you can do, of course going tom to get 2nd opinion. Wondering if anyone dealt with this and what did you do. It is pulled pretty good Vet says that he may be able to go back to calf roping since mainly going straight By the way it is for sure the hamstring because you can tell the difference in the muscle and the feel. first I have seen hamstring injury. Horse was turned out for 6 mths bc life was busy and before that sometimes it would duck the 2nd barrel. Now thinking maybe this why he ducked. So its more than likely old injury.

. My gelding was diagnosed with a hamstring injury and chipping along the point of buttocks due to a fall. He was getting a scope and bal done at the vet when he had an adverse reaction to sedation. He backed up frantically and sat down on his right hip. At first we all thought he was ok after the event but I ran him two weekends in a row and he started blowing by his first barrel and wouldn't sit down to turn. When they first diagnosed the injury you could see the swelling of the muscle. They ultrasounded and x rayed to see the bone irregularities on his pelvis and then shock waved him in that area. They said 30 days off and then back to work. At 30 days he was completely sound. Well it was not quite enough time. I just took him back in because he continued to not rate his first barrel. Riding aggravated it. So now he has to have 4 months off. Bye summer. Oh well at least it's not career ending. He can be turned out into a small Paddock.

Is it in the lower hams? Closer to the hock or the upper ham closer to the spine? My gelding pulled the upper part, had some fuberious tissues I messaged and broke up. And from what I have researched I have been doing this regemine: I message, bot blanket sore no more, hydro, hand walking and light stretches. I'm brining him to do some magna waive treatments this weekend, and he's currently on antiinflamtory meds. After doing the bot and sore no more he had little to no reaction in the area, I am amazed and now a firm believer in these two products! I rotated the sore not more for regular liniment and bot and he was extremely sore and puffy the next morning. But I think that was due to increased blood flow and fluid, so I tested my theory- went back to the sore no more last night and omg much better this morning!!even too videos to prove it! I'm in shock!

You might PM TACKyPaints on here. Her horse tore her hamstring a few years ago, last I spoke to her the horse was doing well and she was back riding her.
