Best supplement for itchy horse

My 29 year old mare is itching like crazy to the point where she is has bald spots all over her body now. It has not been hot here. Bugs are minimal. Her face is bald, she has rubbed her tail raw, and she has bald spots on her body. She does nothing but rub on everything. She has never done this in the 27 years I have owned her. Any suggestions on what I can give her? Thank you!

A mix of original Listerine and mineral oil 50/50
(shake well
), rub well into all hair works well for me.

I'd see if you can get a steroid shot for her.
Hows her coat otherwise?
I might start mine on the Platinum Performance Skin and Allergy formula if he starts to itch....so far nothing. Crossing my fingers! My vet said she uses it during the summer and it helps a decent amount.

Allergies are bad this year, I think everywhere! animal element Detox and body boost are great! But for immediate relief I would give some dex. PM me if you would like more info on animal element.

Steroid shot and a script for Hydroxyzine will be your best friends. Hydroxyzine is an antihistamine that works pretty well in horses and can increase the time between steroid shots, but if she has never done this before I would get it looked at to make sure it is not fungal or bacterial in nature and she might need different meds if that is the case.

vet prescribed oral meds or a injection are about the only thing that will help her so save your time and money and get what others have suggested.. .. also pinworms can cause them to go crazy on hind end..

I will bring that up to my vet.
I like the sound of that
