Looking at a coats ranch cutter ISO opinions(safe to rope in?)

So I am looking at a ranch cutter by coats. I know that I love the coats saddles so my question isn't about quality but I do a bit of everything with my horses and recently had to retire my roping saddle. I was wondering if a ranch cutter would be a good all around saddle and would be safe to use when heeling.

A ranch cutter will be safe for heeling and light roping. It won't be made as stout as as roping saddle but more than a cutter tree. The biggest issue you may face is the seat and stirrup leathers will not be as easy to rope out of. You might find your roping suffer, if it is something you do often and are competitive. Otherwise, it is fine.

I have a friend working with Coats on a hard to fit horse and she's raved about their customer service - call them and ask
I would agree for light roping it would probably be okay if you can get along with the build maybe not being ideal for roping on a regular basis.

These saddles work great for catching in the pasture, doctoring, etc. When you add a timer to it it becomes very hard to be consistent, mainly because the saddle tree is very different from a roper. The seat is a bit more flat and some people find them hard to come out of if they are used to standing while throwing a loop.
However, I think that once you get used to the saddle it will be easier for you to rope out of. These saddles are very nice and fit a majority of today's performance horses. I would get the saddle. The resale value on those saddle sis so good that you could most likely rope out of it for a year and sell it for what you paid for it if you take good care of it :

Here is a picture of what mine will look like. I deleted the barbwire border and kept only the running w border and I didn't want the strings.

My fiancΓ© day works out of a ranch cutter. He rides the same saddle at the ranch rodeos and the team ropings. He has roped everything from baby calves to big bulls out of his with zero problem.

This lol I've never seen my husband or any of the other guys go oohh I can't rope that cow or bull cause I have a ranch cutter on my horse today. His ranch cutter rides way better then any of the roping saddles he has also.
