Looking for recommendations on your favorite educational horse books concerning:

Barrel Racing / Western Riding / General Horse Care

I finished my masters degree this past winter and miss learning. I thought it might be fun to study something related to my hobbies instead of my profession this go around. :)

Not looking for training websites. I am on BHW and FB enough as it is.

Just good old fashioned paperbacks geared towards learning.

Thanks in advance!!

"the schooling of the western horse" by young. It's out of print, but readily available online. It is simply the best book on the training of a saddle horse I've ever read.

This is the book I learned from 55 years ago. We didn't have videos back the Or clinics. I just bought another copy about a year ago. I is really about staring young horse in my opinion. Clinton Anderson has some excellent material and sends out a magazine with very good articles if you are a member. Again these are mainly for starting you horses. I may be weird but I have learned a tremendous amount from the AQHA handbook. It's free.
