I'm pretty sure there were previous threads on this but I can't seem to find them in a search.

I am looking at getting some round bale nets for winter. My guys are easy keepers so they would do fine with a slow-feed version.

Any recommendations?

I do not use round bales, however I would recommend HayChix. I have used their nets by the flake, square bale and wall mounts. I really like them. Good quality and durability.

You can use coupon code t4wkexf for 20% at www.haychix.com! Expires July 31, 2017.

I agree, Hay Chix bags are awesome.  I have 2 - the first I bought several years ago and one I bought last fall.  Both are holding up well!  I use the hay net and then put a bale feeder around them.

I have a round bale Hay Chix net and love it.  However, I only used it a total of two round bales this past year.  I used it along with a horse round bale ring around it.  I am down to only two horses and it is just easier for me to do square bales for them.  I would sell my Hay Chix net if you are interested.  It is in excellent condition, no rips or tears.  Message me if interested.

Do the HayChix nets hold up well in WINTER climates where there is snow and ice on round bales?

Ditto.  I am also in MN.  I have used my Hay Chix round bale net for 3 years now.  It is in great shape and withstands MN winter extremes.

I have Hay Chix, just make sure they are in a ring of some sort because in the winter if your horses have shoes or blankets on- they will get stuck to them.....and yes mine have before I had a ring.

I bought a hay chix used from a friend.  they hold up well IF you don't puncture them with the grapple on the a loader.  We learned the hard way.  Had actually ordered one from Bronco Billy's when I had a friend message me about a used hay chix otherwise I'd have the bronco billys.  We should start a hay net dealership this year, with the drought it sure makes sense to conserve whatever hay possible.-there is very little waste and the best part is my gelding that is heavie is so much better with the net.

^^Good to know!

We do too always use a ring feeder, otherwise they just step all over it. I pull my horse's shoes in the winter, but I did see that "warning" on the haychix website.

Got one on the way -- excited to try it!
