I use SNM poultice, and I put it on my mare's legs and stifles after I ran her today. It was probably noon when I put it on and its 6pm now. I don't wrap, so by now it would be dry. Would it be okay to rinse it off tonight?

I'm running again tomorrow and was just trying to cut down on things to do in the morning. But obviously not if it needs to stay on overnight. I normally leave it on overnight, but I'm also usually done running a lot later.

I decided to just hose it off, I went out there at about 8pm. But I'm still curious on what people think. Is poultice still effective for 12 hours if it's dry for a good chunk of that time?

It would have been fine overnight.

with other poultices i know as soon as it dries its no longer effective. But, i was doing alot of reading on SNM because i got a tub of it for free and they actually say that when it dries thats when it pulls the heat out, so i dont wrap my horses legs when i use the SNM poultice. Is it still working after that long? hard to say but mine nomrally has most of it off by the time i go to rinse it off. I did also read it can burn some horses if left on for too long so i try to only leave it on for 8 at the most.
