Location: N Texas | Ok, surely I'm not alone in this! Last night I had a dream for the second time where I'm at a big barrel race, and I'm in the stands with some of my in-laws (I guess because they always talk about coming to watch me, so that's why they were in my dream). I realize there's only about five riders before me, but my horse isn't saddled, or warmed up, or anything. So I rush to the trailer and frantically try to get him ready. Last night, my horse was still in the trailer and muddy, and I was running around trying to figure out where all my tack was because it wasn't where it was supposed to be.
The first time I had this dream, I was wearing shorts and high heels of all things (which I never wear that combo), so had to change too.
I know dreams have weird psychological meanings, so what the heck is going on??
Anyone else have dreams like this?? |

| Too funny! I have a similar recurring dream (theme of being unprepared) but it's not barrel racing related.
It's Labor day weekend and I am having a blast at the State Fair and all of sudden I realize I haven't registered for my last semester of college (school always started the day after Labor day). So I rush around and get my books and I don't go to my first class until that Thursday- and have to negotiate with my professors to graduate! |

| Yes! I used to also. Same dream but I'm in the porta potty!
Then I actually did miss my run once and had a total panic attack. It felt horrible at the time. But once it happens you realize that life doesn't end... and maybe that one run just wasn't meant to be and there was good reason you shouldn't have made it.
And after it actually happened to me, I never worried or dreamed about it again. |

| You are a bonafide, official dyed-in-the-wool barrel racer! I can tell you that I, myself, and most of my friends have a similar dream!

Location: Southern Indiana | I have that dream a lot where I'm not where near ready and they are calling my name and am scrambling to saddle. I've had it more times than I can count and I always wake up or move on to something else before I run. |

| I teach High School and always have the same barrel racing dream, BUT I also have one where the bell rings for the kids to come in and I walk to my door and realize I'm totally naked and there is nothing I can do. |

| Y'all are lucky that you're getting to ride a horse. In my dreams I have no horse, am running around them on foot and am extremely agitated that I'm not on a horse. |

| I call these "late dreams". In my barrel racing ones, I NEVER get to run. In fact I cannot recall any dream where I actually get to run a pattern.... |
