Location: minnesota | I have a mare that has been through 3 custom fit saddles. I thought we were good with the last one but she's giving me all the signs that we are not. So I'm kicking around the idea of a treeless.
Looking for pros/cons, thoughts on treeless???
Also, my 14 year old rides this mare currently in a 15 inch when she really should have a 14. My question is... How much different is the ride in a treeless, is seat size a huge factor with this type of saddle? |

| I would stick with a 15 in everything but a just B Natural, then I'd go 14.5. But Bob Marshalls, Hilason's, and Tammy Fisher's all run a bit snug. I'd probably stick with a 14 in a Jackie J as well, since it has a lower cantle and forward pommel.

| Bob Marshall is the way to go for quality. I ride a 14" in sports saddle and treed. |

Location: MN | I switched to a Bob Marshall 2 years ago for my hard fitting horse. Stuck with a 14.5" seat like I did in every other brand of saddle but I actually had them tilt the pommel forward. So now I feel like I have more room in my saddle and never feel "stuck".
The only thing I do miss is being able to drag tires and logs behind me.

Location: United States | I have owned from Wengers, Martins, Caldwells and I switched to treeless saddles and my horses and I run SO good in them. I ride in a 14 treed and my treeless are 14.5. I had a 13.5 original bob marshall that I LOVED but the seat was snug. It all depends how much room the rider wants. After they get broke in, they are more flexible. When new, pretty true to size. |

Location: California | I just got an Original Bob Marshal in the mail today! Suuuuper excited to try it out!
I have always heard to order a seat size up with the treeless, except on a Circle Y Just be Natural. Those are supposed to sit more like a regular treed saddle.
Bob Marshall also has a fitting guide on their website. I am supposed to ride in a 14.5 regular, but I bought a 15" treeless. Technically I'm supposed to have a 15.5 treeless according to the fitting, but I'm also trying to lose weight & already down 10lbs since I last did the measurement. Figured if it's too tight, then it'll motivate me LOL
Will update more on my thoughts after I get to use it! |

I've recently switched from the Bob Marshall and Jackie Jatzlau saddles to the Just B Natural. There is a world of difference to me, I will be selling all of my other treeless saddles. That said, the Just B Natural saddles are not built as well as the Bob Marshall's. The Circle Y saddles (Jatzlau and Just B Natural) are definitely made cheaper than the Bob Marshalls. However, the balance, stability, structure and ride of the Just B Natural makes it worthwhile to me, I will never switch back.

I've had my Bob Marshalls on every shape horse and playing with different pads and girth lengths, have never had one not work on any horse. |
