I have met a lot of friends through boarding and our local clubs/organizations. Get involved in NBHA or whatever organizations you have.

 I've got two suggestions.  First would be to check out any local horse-related Facebook groups.  I can guarantee there is someone else looking for friends!

My farrier has also recently "set me up" with some of his other clients.  I have no idea why I never thought of asking him before, but he's given me 2 new people to ride with!

Yup I have to admit I have made some of my best friends through here and other horse stuff. And most of them are several hours away.
