Once I was feeding in the cold and all the horses were crabby and bucking/kicking around so I was carefully spreading out the bales and didn't notice I got too close to one and out of the corner of my eye saw him lift a foot and I thought oh Sh1t! The snow was deep and I knew I couldn't move fast enough, but he put his foot on me and gave me a shove. I got lucky that day! Since then I've seen him do the "shove" thing with a nosey pony too. I appreciate his self control!

It must be the dang weather! I will be darned if I didn’t get kicked too in the back right shoulder, elbow, and hand! It was a sucker punch at that!

Needless to say this colt whose name I will not mention, comes from a salty line of horses. I worked him the next day and rode his butt off. I asked him at the end of the day if he wanted to continue to be a gangster like his brothers from same line. He claimed he no longer was affiliated with the β€œgang” and wished to join the Witness Protection Program.....

I got kicked square in the thigh a few weeks ago! I am amazed at how much power they have behind their kick! Im glad you're okay and it wasn't worse!

I was lunging a colt that was full of himself, and as I sent him off he bucked and kicked his heels towards me, I put my arm in the air to shield my face as I moved backwards but he nailed me in the wrist, he was barefoot but it sounded like a gunshot, didn't really hurt but swelled and scared me to death.

I was mounted on my horse standing next a friend's tied horse. As she got on her other horse and we both started to walk away her horse that was tied (who has hauled with the horse I was on many many times) double-barrel kicked at my horse and nailed me just to the right of my lower shin. I think the only reason it didn't break is because he didn't have shoes on. But that was 7 years ago and there's still a dent in my leg, I have no feeling on the skin around the dent, and I have really poor circulation in that foot

I also once had a horse trot by me in the warm up ( was just walking) and the horse kicked at my horse and hit the bottom of my boot, which for some reason didn't hurt at all lol but After both of those incidents, I was very jumpy every time another horse passed me or swung their butt to me.

Hope you feel better soon!

I got kicked in the bottom of my foot as well.. except I was riding English and we were in a flat class.. the gal rode way too close to me and her horse kicked out and got me right in the foot.. I think my stirrup caught most of the brunt but her trainers reamed her a new one after the class and she came up and apologized over and over again. I think the worse kick I ever got was from my Shetland pony, he double barreled me when I turned him out.. I had 2 perfect little horse hoof prints on each thigh.

I have been more cautious each morning when I turn out.  Prior to this, about a month ago, I introduced a mare that has been boarding here for a long long time into the herd.  She IS a bit scary but things had been going surprisingly well and I let my guard down.  I think it's better for her that she's out with other horses.  She was the only 1 with bars on her stall because she used to lunge at them, but has quit that a few years ago.  Super high strung, ears back all the time, lol.  Crabby mare.
My young gelding is really pushy and he has backed off a bit as well.  I think he's terrified of her, thus my getting kicked.
The owner and I took a risk turning her out and besides my misfortune last week.  It's been really good for her.

My leg still hurts some, but not where the impact was, instead it hurts my lower shin.  Strange.
