A friend rescued a yearling colt that has a sticky stifle. He is very very underweight, almost no muscle tone. Is there a chance he may outgrow it with proper nutrition or is this something shes always going to have to deal with?

Could be nutritional. I would get him healthy and make sure his back feet are trimmed properly, see how it goes before you do more. There are many reasons it could be happening but I’d see if good nutrition and fitness makes a diff first.
