More or less a handicap system ...... Â The levels range from Rookie for beginning competitors to Level 1 for the minimally accomplished, Level 2 for the moderately accomplished and Level 3 for the highly accomplished.
Each level goes by AQHA points earned only. I ran in AMATEUR Level 1 Novice in Jackson MS an the SECOND place horse ran a low 21. Don't know what first place won. The Sr Open Pole horses were running low 20's and 21's. Don't really remember about Barrels there but there were some exceptionally nice runs.
AQHA sends you an invitation to the World Show because the horse accumulated a certain number of points for the year.
Level 1 has its own AQHA World Show which is held in Ardmore OK I believe. You do not not have to qualify for this show.

Thanks for posting that. It is just about what I said. Just way more complicated. Several trainers ran in the Level 2. They apparently had not reached the 25 AQHA point limit.
Edited to add there is a list of people who are NOT eligible for Level 2 in each event. Fallon Taylor ran in Level 3 Sr Barrels because that is where the money is. I don't recall if her name was on the list that could not run in Level 2 or not but don't think it was. She could have run in Level 2 if it was not on the list.

If it’s like the Congress you can have a duplicate made. When whateva won it I spent a small fortune to have a second one made because me and Pete couldn’t decide who got the trophy!
