Location: Georgia | Thanks for thinking of me, I've been fighting this chest bug, Dr put me on a Zpack but Im thinking its not working. Still coughing bad.
AS far as everything else goes I am leaning towards selling. It just doesn't make sense to me anymore. I don't understand this though, they say everything happens for a reason, God put this horse in my hands but why? I took him to a handful of shows when I first got him and that was it. I had sold the trailer prior to him coming into my barn so the trainer who was working out of my barn took me to the shows, infact he was the reason the horse came into my life, he was to be sold out of my barn by the trainer who trained him. Then we moved south and have been down here for the past 4 years. There is a lot more to this but I don'think it really needs to be said or aired. You get the gist of it.
I have a couple of months I figure so Im not going to rush anything, winter is just starting so I have time. Ive been with the husband for a long time so whats a few more months. I'd like to take my horse to a show or two (this is Ga so Im sure there will be shows throughout the winter and I'm sure I can find someone to haul him for me) and see how we do, plus I have no idea what to price him at. I have an idea but I think he is worth more so I need to run him and see how he does. Thanks again. |

| I am in similar shoes. I sold my dream horse Trailer, tractor, other misc equipment, furniture, and anything not necessary. I had 5 horses I have sold one so far, and I’m about to donate my oldest to a college. I’ve been sobbing uncontrollably about it the last week. I’ve had her the last 15 years and she has been my rock and my first real horse with talent. But I can only feed so many and I can no longer compete on her. But I’ve reached the point that I’m so tired of parting with things I love. And one more horse will have to go. I’m tired of repeatedly breaking my heart. So my heart goes out to you as you make this difficult time. |

Location: W. Pa. | I had been in a similar situation many years ago. I kept the horse.. One of the best decisions of my life. Don't sell your horse. You will find a safe place for your horse until you can get your feet back on the ground. Your horse will be there to help pick you up.

I feel this way too---even tho I wasn't riding them at the time of my divorce, my 2 boys kept me sane. I cried so many tears into their manes, and literally leaned on their capable shoulders. I don't know what I would have done without those 2 horses; it never ever crossed my mind to sell them.
To the OP and the other poster that is having to sell her horses, my heart breaks for you both. Like I said before, divorce hurts so bad anyway, and then to throw your beloved 4 legged babies into the mix---my prayers are with y'all. |
