| What is everyone doing for Thanksgiving? Making any good dishes?
Hubby and I are having dinner at our house, my sister and her two kids are coming, as well as my grandfather, and my parents. Should be a good time. We are deep frying our turkey this year. We just got an indoor deep fryer, and tested it out the other day and made the best whole chicken I've ever had. Also tried some French fries and they were great. Going to make some rolls, stuffing, corn, macaroni and cheese, turnip, mashed potatoes and bread. My mom is bringing a pumpkin pie and a chocolate cream pie. Grandfather is bringing the wine, and sister is bring a veggie/dip platter.

Nothing wrong with the sounds of that! We are not making a big production out of it, we finished building our house this year, so will be nice for my sister and grandfather to see it. They are coming a little over 1.5 hrs away. |

| We are currently living with my in-laws, so we will be spending Thanksgiving with them. My brother in law and his family will be coming over (they live three hours away), and will probably stay the whole weekend. My MIL is making the turkey and always makes great pies. I will be supplying the wine (I work part time at a winery- will work for wine!), and I hope to use my Instant Pot for some of the side dishes! We will probably have a potato dish, green bean casserole, rolls and stuffing, along with snacks for beforehand.
My parents live twelve hours and two states away, and will be hosting longtime family friends at their place this year. We will be celebrating Christmas with them.
The Apple Cup football game (Washington vs Washington State) will be on TV, and WSU is where my husband went to for his undergrad and vet school degree, along with numerous members of his family, so we will most definitely be watching that!
It's supposed to be 52 degrees here- warmer than it's been in awhile! |

My parents and Chan and Lula are leaving for their TX deer hunt tomorrow, so Sean and I will be alone too! Doesn't seem like the holidays without my family But I suppose since we're grown-ups, we will be alright!! Not sure what we're gonna eat, but it won't be the normal Thanksgiving meal for just two folks. Hope everyone traveling has safe trips and all BHW friends have a very special day with friends and family. |

This is our first year cooking a deep fried turkey. Any tips? Do you inject yours? |

We usually inject with anything HOT we can find - sauces, spices, etc. This year, since we're making it for the whole family, we had to tame it down and I bought an herb/butter injection mix (I probably could have just made that, this is the first time I have bought the injection). We inject it the night before and let it sit in the fridge. One big tip is don't fill up your pot with too much oil. The first time we fried, we filled the pot with water and put the turkey in it, so we could see how much oil to use. |

Location: Somewhere around here | We are having Thanksgiving at our house this year. We invited my husband's parents his sister, her husband and four kids, my husband's Grandpa and great-uncle, then we'll have our two little girls there is well. Luckily for me we are only cooking the turkey and other family members are bringing the other plates. We also are going to put our turkey on the Traeger so I basically don't have to do anything except clean and get the house ready LOL. |

One more thing I about forgot!!! If you rub the entire outside of the turkey with yellow mustard, it will help keep the skin from burning so badly!! We do that after we inject it the night before too. |
