No, and if you ask the woman who owns the company, she will come unglued on you! I was just curious a couple years back what they actually were & she accused me of trying to steal her "formula" for the pads & make ones myself! I told her she was a nutcase and hung up!!

That is a pretty inflamatory statement. I know Janette and that is BS. The Core material is a protected Trade secret. People have tried to copy it in the past.  I know this because I work for them.

I've been a dealer for almost 20 years.  I can't tell you the exact composition of the "bar" material, but I have some pads (2) that are over 20 years old and used for ranch work (10+ hour days) and they have never broken down, which kind of blows my mind!  Against the horse is 100% wool felt.  In order to withstand the use that we put our pads through, the materials have PROVEN themselves to be elite at our house.  I could probably tell an hour's worth of stories on how well these pads have held up and protected our horses' backs in extreme use conditions, in rough country and long hours.  We have 10 or 12 saddleright pads at this moment.  I've tried other pads and am open minding about trying stuff.  We just keep going back to these for their durability, ease of care, shock protection and longevity.

As for Jenette, she is actually super helpful and sweet, but she isn't the type of person who will take any crap, either!  I love her!  She's a "take it or leave it" type of person.  I'm sorry that someone got off on the wrong foot with her, but she is a doll and I have enjoyed getting to know her.

On their original website, which no longer exists, I remember it saying that they were composed of the material that was used in the space shuttle to keep the instruments from vibrating on re-entry....now what that material is...Idk....but I know I had mine 20 years+ and I bought them used, and they were still in as good shape as when I bought them (except for the wear leathers). The pad itself was still the same. I never used anything else since 1997.

That's what I remember too. Bought my first pad back in 2009. bought 3 more since then and that's all I use now (with a BOT liner to keep the hairs of them).
They also have a lifetime guarantee. Will not compress or deform ever.

I am not lying nor exaggerating one bit! I was inquiry of different pad manufacturers on their pads & what they were made of. Maybe she was having a bad day, I don't know - but she was NOT nice at all & I JUST asked what they pads are made out of. I hung up on her, was not going to listen to her ranting any longer.

Trade secret or not, for that kind of $$$, I would think they would be more than willing to explain the materials and process that goes into their pads. Ouch, I would not pay $300+ for a saddle pad.

If you invested your life in finding and designinga product that would make your horse work better, feel better, and repair the damage that poor fitting saddles and cheap pads created, would you share the trade secret so everyone could copy it? The price of a Saddleright pad is cheaper than any pad on the market when you compare longivity and quality. Do they the pads you use have a lifetime warranty to never break down and compress? When your pad is old, damaged and stained can you trade it back on a new one? Will your pads be as good after 30 years of use as it is when you pull it out of the box new? OURS IS!

Not sure, but it's not that impressive. If you test it for shock absorbancy, it is pretty bouncy. There are way better pads out there.

well i'm not going to go make my own pads lol i just wondered what it was. just because i'm comparing pads and looking to buy two new pads. i have ordered several different pads and returned them already. but everyone has a different opinion and thats ok. i dont rope, i trail ride and start colts. some gathering cows. i have my own opinioins as well. and honestly i will pay alot for a pad that will last me years vs buying a cheap pad that bottoms out or falls apart in less than a year.  i like quality. and i want my horse comfortable becasue they work for you when they are happy! there are many pads in this price range so this is not out of the ball park imo.

impact absorbtion is not the only things  i consider. also pressure dispersion. since i am not roping and jerking a steer i am not worried so much about hard hits and impact. I do post the trot though lol and that is considered in my decisions. I like that they have a good warranty and guarantee. that matters. customer service matter. i made several phone calls and emails to a very high end pad company and never got a single response so guess what, they lost a potential customer!

Also I ordered a well reviewed pad and when I got it I checked it out and returned it! no thanks!  looks and felt like junk to me like worth half the price i paid!

So I'm trying things out, I suggest we all do that if we can! :)

Have you looked at the csi pads? I use them all the time, I especially like them for colts if the saddles are a little big, the support in the pad keeps it from pushing down in the front.
I believe the owners name is Donna, and if you call her, she is awesome, she will tell you everything about the pad.

They are stiff when brand new, and take about a year to really break in, so you may want to look at used.
