Who does whole oats from a Inophore free? or does it matter with whole oats. I am wanting to change where I get my oats. How do you tell if company is Inophore Free? I know that bluebonnet is thanks!

Yes it matters because some facilities run oats through as the cleannout. Some use chicken feed. It just depends on each particular mills protocol.

Yes it matters--it takes a tiny tiny amount of ionophore to kill a horse.
The ONLY way to assure ionophore free anything is to get them from an ionophore free facility. Otherwise you just have to hope that they have good flushing protocols in place and that they follow them.

I buy mine from either my brother or another local farmer so I get them fresh from the field. Maybe try finding a farmer in your area or a local elevator instead of a feed store

I didn't know bluebonnet had just oats only. I will check into that. I was getting from a mill that he said he runs no medication thru and then I got a bag that it was from the clean out when I took it back to him he said oh it wont hurt nothing I could have fed it. And I asked for bags that was in middle not so close to the cleanout and he said he has no way of knowing on bags except what they are. So I'm out. He came across as if horses and cattle the same. I hate it bc them oats was really good and clean! and I was driving an hour but I didn't mind bc was so much cheaper. But I cant do it now that I know he doesn't keep track of his bags very good. He did apologize and replaced but I just have an uneasy feeling bout it now. I try to find a list of inophore free places but cant and I cant think of all the brands name to check indivually

They have Race Horse Oats and Streamed Rolled Oats too. Google BlueBonnet feeds and theres good information about them on their web site.
