Location: Wyoming | Does anyone here have experience with eczema? My daughter mostly has it on the scalp. Her skin is treatable with Cetaphil lotion (as per dermatologist).
Scalp is dry, flaky, itchy and 'tight-feeling' no matter what shampoo, conditioner, coconut oil, moisturizing treatment I have tried on her.

Location: South Georgia | Are they sure it's not psoriasis? It is common in the scalp area and requires more medicinal treatments than Cetaphil lotion to supress. I have had it my whole life. |

Location: Wyoming | Dermatologist said it was eczema. They did not check her scalp as it hadn't had a flare up and she didn't mention it to them. Of course now that the weather is dry and cold it is terrible for her. |

Location: South Georgia | I bet you that is psoriasis then. Winter is the worst time for it. Definitely go it so they can get her some meds or topicals. I use clebatosol solution and it clears it up in a couple days. It is the same feeling you describe: tight scalp, itchy, irritating. It flakes also. |

I spent years being laughed at because of my eczema. Years ago I ordered exederm and it's ALL that I use now. I can't recommend it enough!!!!! |

Yes. It's a liquid and has alcohol in it so it dries in the hair quickly. I use it once a day until the flare up is gone. It will be dormant for a few days and then I will use it a couple more times as needed. It does come and go but I am fine with that. The solution will knock it right out again when I apply it. |

They sell a few different products, all for eczema related issues. They sell a shampoo, and it's great! My hair is pretty healthy. I get bad eczema rashes on my arm, and I am allergic to a few different ingredients that are common in lotions, make up, shampoo, etc, so sometimes I will get red rashes on my face, and I use their flare control cream, and in a day or so it's gone! I use their wash for my face and to take my make up off at night, and use the moisturizer as a face and body lotion. My mom had bought me these products years ago and I just put them on a shelf and never used them until one day it got so bad after trying everything exederm has been the only product that has cleared, not just helped my eczema. I wasted so much money going to the drugstore to try every wash and lotion under the sun. It I only had known about exederm as a teenager it would have made school much nicer..Also, when I order online, they most always ship the same day, the customer service is amazing. Good luck!

| My scalp is so bad during the winter I could go crazy! I have had problems my entire life. I use Nioxin shampoo and conditioner, helps some what. I use prescription Cloebetasol onintment, tried the liquid (it is easier to apply to the scalp) I couldn't handle it because of it's high alcohol content. I recently started applying straight coconut oil with a drop of tea tree oil added. I just mix it in an old moisturizer container. It cost me $5 at Wal Mart. I apply it with an eye dropper and then massage it in. Yes, it does make a mess, but you can do it over night and wash your hair in the morning. I stay at home and work on the ranch so I leave it in for a couple of days since I wear a stocking cap all day anyway! |
