I used clay and pressed our dog's paw into it, then made it into an ornament. When we found out it was going to be our dog's last Christmas, I gave it to my husband to open on Christmas morning. It was a simple ornament, just an oval shaped flat piece of clay that I put a hole in before baking it to hold the string, and then I wrote "Ranger" near the bottom.

I've made memory books in the past for various vacations and events, so I've thought about making one with pictures from puppy stage to old man stage. Shutterfly, Costco and a few other places make really nice ones. Shutterfly usually has a lot of coupons too!

I make custom headstones. (If you want to make one yourself just do a quick search in Amazon and it will pull up all the suppplies you need to make your own ;)
Here is an example... This was one of the first I made and it hasn't dried yet in this picture.
Photos, gems, and keepsakes can also be set in the stone.

First off, I am so sorry for your loss!
This lady does a really good job, there are several things you can choose from.

I ordered a 6x12 marble plaque for my dog, and it came out beautiful.

That's the style I got, and you can change the wording to whatever you want.
I left the Rainbow Bridge quote, but above/below the ribbon it says, "My Favorite Hello / My Hardest Goodbye"
Thanks for making me get all teary-eyed this morning!!

I got a tattoo of my old dogs paw print. He was in my life for about 16 or so years during the most important parts of my life; I know I'll never regret it or anything like that. It doesn't have any dates-just the print. I got it before he had even passed away.

Again, I am so sorry about your dogs. This has been a very emotional week for me, and my heart goes out to all of you who have lost your four legged kids. . . .

I had this madden by a friend for my husband when they had to put their family dog down. It was simple and in my budget. My best friend had to put her dog down yesterday so I am in the hunt for ideas too. Unfortunately the person who made this just had a baby's, sonis out of commission for crafts for the time being.

When my Katie died, one of my friends who makes furniture, frames, buckle cases, mirrors, etc surprised me one day with a display table.  It's about the heigth of a sofa table but not as long, and is like a buckle display case with glass.  He burned her name on the front top of it.  I have her dog collars, her tags, her favorite toys, her frisbees, a swatch of her dog bed that my mom made into a small little pillow and her dog bowls in there.  I cried like a baby when Dan gave it to me.  It's one of the most special things I have.

Thanks Roxie. I've added photos before and they turned out so special. I make them for family and friends. They always seem to like them.

Thank you guys. He was my sidekick and shadow for 14 years and he certainly didn't deserve to go out the way he did

I am so sorry for the loss of your sidekick, but take heart knowing he will always be your shadow- you just can't see him anymore.
