A trip to the vet would be a starting point. Can you buy Hayrite products in your area? Look into them.

I have tried everything through the years for my 26 yr old, 17H EXTREMELY hard keeper that is prone to ulcers and cribs... needless to say I started him on the Purina Professional Performance Impact when they had their 60 day challenge and he looks and feels AMAZING!!!! I can't say enough about this feed. It doesn't have corn in it so he hasn't had a flare up either. It cost less than the Ultium too.

Another recommendation would be THE Muscle Mass with the Ulcer blend... Wyoming Barrel Racer sells it... WONDERFUL product!!

I have two geldings 18 and 30. Both are hard keepers. They get ADM Freelys feed with DAC Oil and Orange Superior along with alfalfa pellets and grass hay. I have had great results with this thus far.

total equine is an extruded feed, so best for digestion and absorption. not a processed pellet

I understand about slimming it down.  I have a 2 hard keepers and 1 of them I watch with ulcers. Free choice good hay, one is on senior, alfalfa pellets, beet pulp and aloe juice. The other is free choice hay, a pelleted feed, beet pulp and rice bran (depending on the time of year).  I like beet pulp to keep the guts moving and increase water intake. Those also aid in my on going sand fight.

ADM feeds are AMAZING! They have the best ingredients in my opinion and they are low in starch which will help with your ulcers LOTS. Powerglo is amazing!

I would simply add Hemp oil and meal to grass and alfalfa hay.  The Hemp oil brings great benefits to the the diet suppling all the Omegas the horse needs in the diet.  The meal is a excellent source of essential protein surpassing soy.  Horses on Hemp products look terrific and feel good.

I bought one 2 years ago that I considered a hard keeper.  He was on a junk pellet and came to me with all his ribs showing. I treated him for ulcers and  I put him on my program, which is Renew Gold, alfalfa and  he is turned out 24/7 except for weather.   He immediately starting gaining weight but I still had to work at keeping the weight on him.  He is just not a big eater like my other horses.  I bought a bag of Standlee alfalfa pellets and that was the trick for him, he loves them.   I give him 3 scoops once a day in addition to the RG and baled alfalfa. He is finally looking like I want, filled out all over, the girl I bought him from didn’t even recognize him when I posted a picture on Facebook. The only supplements  he gets are a min/vit min and Super mag.

Free choice grass hay the best you can get is the key to getting weight put on a thin horse, but make sure teeth are good and been dewormed.

This! I believe in all the hay they want!
