I got a new saddle saturday and im wondering how long everyone leaves their stirrups turned before attempting to ride in it? I just put a broom stick in them last night. Its suuuuper stiff so i know its going to take awhile lol. Any other tips or tricks? This is my first time getting a brand new one

I'll ride in it, and then put the broom stick right back in them until I feel like they're really broke in and staying where I'd like them to.

Spray the leather with a water bottle. Soak the leather with the water while the broom is holding the leathers. Do it for a few days.
Ride in it and put the broom right back.

Thankfully, mine came pre turned. Combined with my Kroes Feet stirrups it is riding like a well loved saddle.
I’ve also put my own hamley twists in them before. I have bad knees so the break in period can be brutal.

This ^^^^^ I always wet the stirrup leathers while the stick is threw them and let them dry and then I repete. The water wont hurt the leather.

Add some weight with the broom, I always use a heavy pry bar.
