About 200 feet away is the barn. Havent finished barn yet so dont hear them up there. But my neighbor is letting us use some of his land to open the pasture so they come down next to house.
(they just love to go running around the pasture at 6 am and all you hear is hoofbeats!!
)
The way the property is set up is house is set halfway down slope and horses are above us on top closer to road. Behind house is gentle slope about 50 feet and then slopes down to creek.

150 yards. I walk that many times a day. It's a PITA sometimes but I enjoy the exercise :

Ours is about 100-150’ and I love it. I can hear what’s going on but not see, so my husband got me a ranch cam for Christmas so I don’t have to walk out there to see what’s going on when I hear the dogs barking in there at night. In the summer, we leave windows open and horses out, and I haven’t ever thought it’s too loud. Can run between the 2 easily when we forget stuff inside, etc.
