Elite Veteran Posts: 795 Location: GODS country	Anyone have a successful barrel horse with slightly knocked knees (she is also narrow chested)? Nothing noticeable when riding or running the pattern, however, if you really look at her chest/front you can tell. This is a prospect we are considering purchasing, however, I am not sure if this will affect her in the future or if she will hold up.

Base narrow wouldn't bother me, offset knees would. No - she is narrow chested yes, but her knees curve in a pinch which then causes below the knee to flare out (if that makes sense). I know of a few successful race horses like her, but barrels are a different story!

Defense Attorney for The Horse Location: Claremore, OK	A knock kneed horse will be more prone to splints and will have more wear and tear on his whole lower leg because things aren’t lined up. He will also hit unevenly on his foot, landing inside toe outside heel. Any type of deviation increases wear and tear on a horses leg. That being said, there are very few straight legged horses competing and there are a lot of crooked legged horses winning. Offset knees and in at the knees has become a very common flaw, especially in race bred horses.
