RE: OT: Cross Country moving companies

My daughter just a a NIGHTMARE of an experience with Excalibur who then brokered to American Eagle. Her furniture was GUARANTEED to be there by March 21, finally was delivered April 4 and most all of her furniture is RUINED, they dropped boxes off the moving truck onto the ground and shattered dishware, her 68" t.v. didnt even show up. She now has filed and insurance claim with the moving company as well as her renters insurance and had to file a police report for a stolen tv. Her leather sectional and recliner have slices all over them, her dining room table, which was less than a month old when they moved, top is completely scratched up...making it look like it is ANCIENT!!!! PLEASE whatever you do, DO NOT use these two companies!

How much do you have to move? Freight companies
(I run Refrigerated
) have to have cargo insurance so if there's an issue you can file against the cargo insurance.
If you don't have a full 53' trailer I would check with Old Dominion and the other LTL
(Less Than Truckload
) companies because Old D' and SAIA etc will drop trailers for you to load then take them where ever and drop them for unload.
Scheduling is tough esp for the "bed-buggers" because of ELD's and finding a crew to load and unload the truck. - Note that the companies like Allied, World Wide and those authorized to haul "household goods" etc, hire local crews so if things are damaged it's probably due to the crew on either end, or depeding on the region the truck is driving across - the Horrible roads.
