For thirty three years Jesus showed us what GENUINE LOVE LOOKS LIKE. He was and IS the very embodiment of love. Jesus...GOD...in the flesh and blood, showed us by His life as well as by His sacrificial and excruciatingly painful death on the cross that GENUINE LOVE IS UNLIMITED, UNCHANGNG, UNSELFISH, AND UNCONDITIONAL. The very natural self love that ALL of us know all to well is the very antithesis of all those things. On the night before He was crucified, Jesus gave us a "NEW commandment" Having just washed His disciples feet , our Suffering Servant said," A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. John 13:34-35
Up until Jesus spoke this, the best we could do was love on the level of the old commandment of loving others as we love ourselves. But we have a rest commandment to love others as HE LOVED US, unselfishly and unconditionally. For it is WITH God ALL things are possible. Father God, guide me today to do all things that will bring glory and honor to You AMEN HAVE A VERY BLESSED LOVE OF GOD FRIDAY AND WEEKEND ALL!
