| Any northern Idaho barrel racers on here ? Iβm from So Cal but will be in Spokane area after Pendleton. I just entered a barrel race in Coer Dβ lane ID for the 5th of July ! The producer said she gets 60-70 entries in the open on Thursday nights ! Just curious if any board members are from there. |

| I live in the area, but know nothing much about the scene yet. I was finally legging up my mare to get back to competing and she suffered a significant injury. Playing the watch and wait game now. Good luck at the race! |

Yes, we compete on the thursday night races in CDA. Big pen, usually standard pattern, but last time it was a smaller score , 16.8 won. Ground can be rocky and on the harder side. 1st barrel is kind of out in the middle, see a lot of horses go past by 3-4 strides. Good payout and good people! Hope to see ya there the 5th! |

Thanks ! Yep I pre entered. Looking forward to it. The lady putting it on did mention standard with shorter score. I donβt mind a big open pen, both of my horses are for sure barrel hunters and were started in big open fields with no fences for this very reason! Thanks. |

The first race of the season they had a true standard, the pro rodeo runs a true standard as well, but this past race wasn't. Known the less, still a cloverleaf pattern LOL!! Ha, me too, my "arena" is a nice sandy barrel patch, mine do quite well in that pen! Drive safely!! |

Well, be warned, you might fall in love with the area and want to move here. lol The weather has been great so far this summer. Make sure you pack a sweatshirt and a jacket. We are still dropping to the 40s most nights, which tends to be pretty chilly for out of towners. How long will you be here for? |

Iβm entered at Pendleton then putting on a barrel clinic on the 7th in Spokane area. Heading back to CA on the 9th. I would probably fall in love with the summers lol. Winters not so much. |

Has the barrel racing scene picked up around there? If it has maybe ill start staying with family in the summer!!Texas is getting too HOT this year |

| I have only been here for one winter so far and it was fine. Just have to change your mindset and go with the flow. You won't be here near long enough to truly enjoy it, but that can be said for anyone who doesn't actually live here. lol I can tell you that you will get a kick out of North 40 across the street from the fairgrounds. A one stop shop for outdoor/livestock enthusiast. Also across from the fairgrounds is Nosworthy's. They have great omelets and good burgers. Make sure to pick up a huckleberry shake too while you are here. Good luck at the race! If I happen to show up to watch, I will cheer for you. |

Hey! I am from Rathdrum. The race is being held at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds. I don't remember off hand who is putting on the race, but there is a decent amount going here from what I found. BRN, NBHA, Pro-West, WPRA. It's a little fuzzy now that my mare is laid up and I am stuck waiting for her to heal. |
