Anyone dealt with Neck Threadworms??

Have a 10 year old mare who over the last several years has developed extreme sensitivity to fly bites, mainly from her withers forward and under her belly to the point of big raw spots all the way down her belly line. She'll lay down and scratch her belly on the ground. I've tried every ointment, fly sheets, dex, etc. thinking it was an allergy. I was visiting with a friend today who mentioned neck threadworms and after googling it, it sounds very similar to my mare. Does anyone know how the treatment is with worming? How much of what and how often? Of course, I'll call my vet to discuss but wanted to see if anyone has had experience. I feel so bad for this mare, she's constantly itching on the trees. Any info would be greatly appreciated! :

I bought a gelding that had neck threadworms years ago and I dewormed him with Zimecterin and he never had a problem with neck threadworms again.

Should I worm her again with Ivermectin in 14 days? Will that be enough?
