| Is there ANYPLACE online to purchase the pouches of albuterol without a vets prescription? My local vet is telling me he only endorses ventipulmin, the syrup form. I asked to order a box of the albuterol for my nebulizer but he said sorry I've never heard of it. My horse is a mild bleeder and I know others from different states that said this treatment has really helped their performance horses. |

| Β ugh... Sounds like you need a different vet. Also seems like he's not really comfortable with respiratory disease. Unfortunately you need a prescription.

Location: Bandera, TX | Not that I know of-stateside, I've always had my Vet call in to my local small town pharmacy. I have used the overseas pharmacy and that bit me in the behind last time. Plus, they want bank route numbers. I'm just not comfortable with that any longer.

| My vet called in a prescription for the human inhalers to Walmart. Super cheap. I got a mask from her and few puffs a day. Worked awesome. |

If you have friends with kids, they might have some vials from treating their kids with a home nebulizer...... |

You know everytime you write a check you give out your routing & account number? I'm a banker and it doesn't bother me a bit. |

| Bumping this back up, anyone on here use albuterol in their nebulizers? If so, what is your mix or how much? I'm still learning as I'm waiting for my prescription.. |

| Β I use ipratropium bromide inhalation solution in nebules which is the same as atrovent. It lasts up to 4 to 6 hours where albuterol only lasts an hour or so. Also it is super cheap. I get over 40 treatments for 25 dollars. I nebulize two nebules that are .5mg/ 2.5 ml about an hour before I run. |

I have human nebulizers and the medication to go in that. The horse versions sounds pretty close to the human version. |

I made a horse mask out of a 2 1/2 gallon jug, but the mask from silverhorsecare is very nice. I nebulize 2 vials of albuterol about a half hour before a race. If he's heevy during the day 1 vial as often as needed. |
