We were able to bred to him his first and second years in the shed. I really love them, some can get hot and they can't take a ton of pressure depending on the dam side. We bred a few cutting mares to him and the results were quite nice. I have a grandson out of a running bred mare. He gets ulcers and is a worry wort but his athletcism is amazing.

Have you ridden an OTMR horse? I personally have ridden a few, similar temperaments and don't get along with them. With that said, lots of friends like them and obviously they have a ton of success in the arena. Just not for me.

I rode one for some people. He is an amazing athlete but lacked courage. He was bad in back, due to being afraid but worked his rear off in the arena. Smart, kind and easy to teach I thought. He has a very long stride. You can see a couple runs on YouTube his name is Flit Money.

We are going the ICSI route with Designer Red is why I asked. We just hope the babies are as nice as I've heard. I know slick by design is by him and my grandfather used to always say if you like the horse then breed to his sire so that's what we are doing. The mare we are using is heavily training right now and we are gonna futurity in the spring. She is overly friendly and has so much natural talent. We joke she fell out of heaven because she just acts like she was born to do this. It's a major risk and we don't plan to sell the foal resulting ever.

That should be nice.  I just want to throw one more thing out there.  For the same price you could breed to Streakin six or Special Effort.  Both have crossed super nice in the past on Shawne bug.  Just one more thing to think about.

Love him. I bred my driftwood mare to him & got a wonderful, top winning horse, LR Designerwood. I also bred an easy jet mare I use to have to him & got another top winning horse, LR Designed to win. That's one reason I have bred my driftwood mares to slick by design. He is a son of DR. Love my slick horses to. May-be it's the driftwood mares I have bred to him, but I have had absolutely no problems training them. People who have bought colts from me love them to.

I bet the Driftwood is a dream combo with DR!

The mare is being dropped off this weekend for ICSI to Designer Red, Frenchmans Guy, and Fire Water Flit. Only time will tell if she gives us good results...if not...then we till try again in the spring. We do not have any intentions of selling any of the foals....We have bought several $$$ yearlings in the past with big name pedigrees and they were nightmares when we got them....seriously have to run them into the trailer and not even close to halter broke...So we decided to do it our own way. Its a major risk but seriously maybe its just the horses around us because we have had no luck.

She is sired by Classic Stone (Sticks An Stones) out of a daughter of Jody O'toole, out of a Shawne Bug, out of a Clabber Bar daughter.

She is currently at Weatherford Breeding Center
