How to break in a Rope Node Hackamore?

So I just got a Jim Warner Hackamore and it won't stay
positioned on the nose correctly. Here is a video of what it does
(not my video but it does the exact same thing
)
https://youtu.be/ijL_EEzYK7A
I am going to wrap the nose in vet wrap but is there any way to fix this or get the rope to break in easier then time and use? Thank you!

If its doing the same thing as the one in the video take it back should not be doing that. I have a Jim Warner hack also and it does not do that at all, its 20 plus years old and never did that even when it was brand new.. Mine moves very smoothly, I dont know if mine is a reinsman I dont think it is, so I will look at it tomorrow if I can remember, Its been so long ago I cant remember where I got it from.. But I would not use the one you have now, take it back

You need to look into the Brittany Pozzi Hackamores, I have this one and really like it.

I would try some WD-40 on the hinges and work them back and forth until theyโre smoother and looser, my opinion is theyโre just too tight. Hopefully they can be worked loose. I have a JW out in the barn thatโs older and used, Iโll check it when I go out in a bit and see if it does this - I donโt use it currently, was just able to add it to the collection cheap :
)
The Pozzi is a nice hack, but the feel will be different with the rubber covered chain vs the rope. And it could do the same thing if the hinges are too tight.

I have both the Brittany and the Jim Warner and neither one catches they both float very smoothly no catch.. I perfer the Brittany over the JW because the rope nose piece is a bit harsher then the rubber so yes there is a different feel between the two, if I get another JW it will be one with the flat chain nose piece.
