Any RNβs out there that would know how hard it would be to get a job as a new grad say in Texas if I am graduating in California?
I suspect I will have to get a job here first till I can get the Texas endorsement but I was just wondering... I have to get out of this state haha

The money is better in California! I would stay long enough to gain experience and then take a travel assignment out there. The staff jobs in Texas donβt pay nearly what they do in California.

Check with the hospitals in the area you want to move in Texas. A lot of them love to hire new grads and will do a lengthy orientation. A lot of hospitals have new grad programs and encourage hiring them because usually its a clean slate and you can train them the way you want lol

Lula Bell graduated in May and passed her RN exam two days later--we're very proud of her! I know she worked SO hard, especially the last year, so sending best wishes for this final semester

If I remember right, in San Antonio area new grads in a hospital setting start around $20-21, and then it's pretty much $1 for every year of experience after that. But while the pay is better in California, the cost of living is less in Texas. It all evens out.
I had trouble getting into a hospital when I moved from SA to College Station, so I took a different route which ended up best for me. But I also only applied to one area, and CStat is pretty small and fond of their own homegrown. If you apply to all the big major cities for the new grad
positions, I'm sure you can easily find a program to get into.
(:
Good luck! I know it's been a long road, but you're almost there!
