Location: Texas | My granddaughter rode in a LL Circle Y saddle and a Martin and her horse ran much better and actually had a decent first barrel. She had been saying that the saddle that she had didn't fit him well. Then I saw that LL has a Martin saddle. Does anyone have a LL Circle Y or Martin? Does it fit most horses? Didn't find many used Lisa Lockhart saddles so I guess people like them. |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | I didnt know that Martin Saddlery is making the Lisa Lockhard saddles now, I had to go look and wow they are really nice looking saddles, I didnt like the looks of the Circle Y's but the Martins are really nice, I dont own one because they were circle Y's but now I would have to rethink owning a LL. I'm a big fan of the martins. |

Location: Texas | Granddaughter's horse has really been in a slump but ran like a champ with the saddle change. Would really like to find a used LL Martin but not sure it exists. People might tend to keep them and I guess that is a good thing. |

If I am not mistaken, they have only been out for about a year--probably less. I think it was announced at the NFR last year that she'd be switching to Martin.

| The LL Circle Y saddles aren't poor quality by any means - cheaper than other models and can be a good using saddle.
They fit more of a bulldog built horse with wider, flatter trees.
I would assume that she also has her own version of that tree in the new Martin saddles, not just a tree from their standard line.
If she ran in both, why not buy and use the Circle Y until you find a used Martin version? |

Location: Texas | She rode the Circle Y and liked the feel of it. Don't really know anything about the quality of either one. You don't find used ones very often if at all. |

Location: North Dakota | I have the wide tree Lisa Lockhart for my horse Red (super beefy classic quarter horse) and just bought a regular tree (now "Badlands") saddle for my other horse (who isnt as wide and has big shoulders and big withers). While the leather quality could be better (probably why Lisa went to Martin), I absolutely love how the saddles fit and I love how they ride. I don't think I'll ever use anyting else again. Either the wide or the regular fits just about any horse, and sweat patterns are even. I love the concept of the Flex2 tree.
I tried to find information on the new tree Martin has for Lisa, and how it compares to the Flex2 from Circle Y, but I can't seem to find any info on it. |

Location: Texas | I think the one that she rode was a wide but I don't consider her horse extremely wide. |

Location: Got Lobsta? | The Circle Y and the Martin are completely different in my opinion. I had the older version and did not like the fit on my broad horse. She has big shoulders and it just seemed to pinch her plus I never felt secure in the saddle. I got the Lockhart Fearless last May and I LOVE IT! Quality is amazing and it fits my horse perfectly. I like how deep and secure I sit in the saddle. Martin won't call it a "flex tree" but "pliable bars". After 4 different saddles on her, I'm very happy! |
