I'm thinking I may have one horse that may not be doing well with flax seed. not sure. the other one is fine. When I looked up side effects one of them was breathing, bleeding, and lethargic. but that was for people. I am gonna take him off it for awhile and see if I see any changes. Nothing major just subtle things going on with horse. Was wondering if anyone else's horses had problems. I am feeding as clean as possible the flax is in HorseTech and Horseshine.
thanks!

You're supplementing 2 different supplements and both have flaxseed in them? Is that what you're saying? I've used horse tech supplements before and I think they are pretty decent I think I used the nutraflax though .. it was just stabilized flaxseed meal I believe. I have 1 horse on omega horseshine right now as well. I've never had an issue with feeding it. My other 2 horses are on platinum performance and I know that also has flax in it. Maybe just try taking him off one of them and see.

I would say that it is unlikely to be the flax seed. Unless you were severely over dosing it which would take a TON.

I had a horse go dead lame on flax. Took him off the flax and he was fine.
I had our lamanetic pony on flax because it is suppose to help with inflamation. Following vet orders of keeping her on alfalfa
(Less sugar
) between the flax and alfalfa is was too much protein that was converted into sugar and made it heart wrenching to watch this poor pony try and walk. Cold turkeied her off all protein and within 2 days was as close to normal as she'd been in a long time.
We also have a client who said she has a horse who will colic on it.
All of our show horses are on it and I've never had a problem for the many years and various horses I've used it on. If I wasn't so cheap, I'd go with Horse Guard Hair and Hoof, saw amazing results on that in a month.
