I noticed that too and wondered what it represented. Several had yellow scarfs or bandanas. Maybe for the injured bareback rider?

not that its any correlation with yellow being bad luck, but there were more barrels knocked down in this round than Ive seen in forever...

It was supposed to be 'gold' night for Nancy Hunter I believe. Someone correct me if I am wrong! It does look yellow though!

I imagine if you're counting on your own wardrobe it could be a little tough to find the color gold.

Didn't the ladies wear gold round 3? Then I saw others wearing the gold bandana last night in round 4. Wish the commentators knew what they were for. That way the message of wearing them would be spread wider.

What about the tape on Tuf Cooper's sleeve? Noticed tonight that it had something written on it but couldn't decipher it.

I think they are referring to a rider that was hurt in a rodeo prior to the NFR. He suffered a spinal cord injury that resulted in paralysis. I heard the Justin Sports Medicine doctor mention it the first night, I'm assuming this is what people are referring to.

The bareback rider who was injured and isn't riding is JR Vezain. I was really hoping to hear a better update on his condition but it sounds like the paralysis is likely permanent.

I'm sure it is a sponsor that had to be covered up due to it being too large and a competitor with one of the NFR's main sponsors. Cinch vs. Wrangler.
I know at HS and college levels you can't have a sponsor patch that is a competitor with the main sponsors over a certain size.
I believe he had a bible verse on the tape last night.
There's a few others that I've seen with tape on the shirt.
