Today is
My Hayrite dealer is phasing out... they are using a new cube that I just dont care for. Looks like the closest feedstore to me is going to go with Omnis cubes instead of Hayrite. I haven't feed them in over 3 years, really only because, we moved from New Mexico, where it was easy for me to get and no one close by our new place carried them. My sister feeds her herd omnis, shes in Arkansas tho.. she said she only ran into about 3 bags that were moldy she returned them and was given fresh bags and hasn't had an issue since.. I've really liked feeding the hayrite to my horses but there isnt another dealer remotely close to me now .. boo!
That's a shame your Hay Rite dealer is phasing out..... I tried Omnis once in a pinch....I wasn't impressed with the quality compared to the few Hay Rite cubes I had left.
I feed the alfalfa only Danco cube. I switched to another brand (not HayRite) and my horses fell apart. It was the only thing I changed. I don’t have to soak them. I tried Hay rite cubes, but I had to soak them and the store that carried them was 1 1/2 hour trip whereas the Danco cubes are much closer.

Yep the next closest hayrite dealer will be over 3 hours from me.. just not an option. I'm down to my last 2 hayrite bags. I dont want to go with standlee and the other option is something called grain land alfalfa cubes... they arent nowhere near the quality. All I can do is buy some omnis bags and see how it goes. I remember I really liked them when we were in New Mexico .. horses looked great and ate them well and I didnt need to soak or break them up
I still feed the Danco Omega cubes. Horses still love them and I have never had an issue with them. The Omega cubes are alfalfa/flax and the Omnis cubes are alfalfa/oats/flax.

I wasnt even aware they had a cube with alfalfa and flax. Haven't been paying much attention! I'm pretty sure the feedstore manager said he is only getting the omnis because he had several people asking for them. Good to know though!
Actually my horses like the alfalfa/flax better than the alfalfa/oats/flax and I also had a mare that I was trying not to give her any oats as she was way too fat which I think is probably why she colic on the green grass this month.

Are they priced the same?
Yes they are where I get mine from.
Also they went up in price since the tariff thingy. Not because of the cube itself but because of the pallets they are shipped on as they come in from Canada and I guess something about they pallets have to be of a certain grade of wood now.

Yes I noticed they are a little more spendy out here! 15.89 is what I was quoted .. I think back in New Mexico we were getting them for around $12 . Bummer. I just now found out my closest feed store is going to be carrying high quality Timothy hay year round .. hmmm. I've never fed it but have heard its top notch for horses. I dont know what I'm going to do at this point lol!
When Danco had the issues a couple years back I tried the hay-rites but none of my tribe where impressed with them. So as soon as they figured out the issues I went back to Omnis. And the tribe is happy and chunky again.
Where is an omnis dealer list. I wonder if I can get them in WY.
You might see if Danco has a Facebook site.
Timothy is outstanding for horses You are lucky to have found some. I believe that is what they feed in KY to the racing stock.
