Do you go for a supplement that has specific ingredients for specific things (gut, feet, joints etc) or do you go for a supplement that provides building blocks for the horse to fix itself?

I have used exceed 6 way in the past (on a horse with no issues that is on a very good diet) with no noticeable change (didn't expect one), and I have used SmartGut Ultra on a horse with ulcers with awesome results. However, products like Formula 1 & Lifeline intrigue me.

What type of supplement do you go for?

My herd ages range from 11 to 24, and they're all on Platinum CJ.  3 of the geldings have no issues; 1 of those is my 24 year old.   Chan's mare has suspensory issues, and Sean's Paint had tendon damage; I know what I see in my horses, and they're on this supplement for life. (Two, the mare, was having trouble getting up a few years ago; we were out of CJ, and Sean hadn't reminded me to change the auto-ship date. . . As soon as she got back on her regular dosage, she was back to normal.)  I know a lot of folks don't believe the feed thru works, but I've seen what CJ does for my horses.  (Right up until I lost Dan (39) last July, he was bucking and kicking and snaking his head--acting like a stud with his herd of mares. . . I know he felt better by being on it.)

So I said all that (eye roll) to say I vote for an all-around supplement that just happens to help our leg issues too!!

I would have to look but isnt Platinum CJ a supplement that has a big combination of ingredients? Not like one of those "building blocks" ones where the horse "fixes itself"
