Thought my fellow BBs would enjoy these....we recently had our fam photos done for the 1st time since our little boy was born. I've had the idea to include my mare in photos for a while now as I've had her for 13 yrs and she's definitely part of the family. We had these taken at my mom's farm so there was something special about taking her "home" to be included in our fam photos. Anyway. Thought I'd share a few of my favs. My kids adore her and she is fabulous with them!

What a beautiful beautiful family, including your big red girl.   Chandler and Laura are doing engagement pictures next week; I wish so much they would have been made last week so that Peekaboo would have been here to be in them. . . So these beautiful pictures made me cry, but you truly have a treasure in them.

Thank you! She's getting a wee bit older (18). Hopefully many years left, but so glad to have photos while she still looks like her spritely self.

Thank you! The "big red girl" comment made me smile. That's what I call her much of the time. For reference, I'm 5'7". She is BIG.

She was my 16th bday present. Got me thru your typical teenaged stuff, broken heart and out at the barn late crying bc she listened, all that junk we all go thru. My husband was the first date I brought home that upon meeting her, she didn't immediately pin her ears. I took that as permission from her to go on more dates with him. Lol! To this day she's not much of a man's horse, but she does like him. She regularly nuzzled my stomach when I was expecting each of my kids. She was thoroughly confused when the 1st arrived, and it took her a while to figure out the tiny squishy human, but ran to the gate when my husband brought us home after our little boy was born. I immediately got him out of the car and took him out. She "met" him and even my husband commented you could see the love in her eyes. She's kind of been my little boy's ever since. I joke that he lets me borrow her. Lol!

Sorry for my long story. I say all that to say. Yes. She is extremely special. She isn't super fast by any means but she is fun, consistent and easy going and not a mean bone in her body. I love her dearly. And now my big wall in my living room will have photos that include her!

She is such an affectionate girl. I've been spoiled all these years by such a sweet mare.

i  have a soft spot for mares.  I  see that you have a church in your backyard.

Yes, my mom's farm  has this little old German church on the very back side, just over the property line. It's super cute!

I'm curious why your font has a line thru it? LOL!

I think they had a really good time.  They covered 2 counties, started at daylight, and had multiple "wardrobe changes," but they looked really happy by quitting time.   The last pics were with her gelding here at my house, so I got to see the best part of the day in my opinion!   They ended with Kota loose in my round pen and the kids sitting on the panels with him in the background--I can't wait to see them all.  Hope they're beautiful like yours. . . .
