Today is
My daughter just turned three. Pretty sure her first word was "Weewoy" aka LeRoy! I will be buying a colt in the spring to try and get ready to replace my 1D horse by the time she is ready to take him over in a year or so..... She has already stolen her Daddy's heel horse who has become the perfect kid horse. He only walks haha But she will pattern/train him on barrels over the next year or so. All while waiting for her chance to run her Weewoy lol **** kids!
As soon as they want it and can handle it! Err' time! I have two daughters so since 2006 I've gotten a new horse every couple of years as the daughters 'stepped up' and needed better horses. I got nicer horses each time, would really start enjoying them and then BAM - Horse change. Until the last one. She didn't finish out 'nicer' than what the daughter was running at the time so daughter leap-frogged me and SHE got the new horse in 2018. Daughter was almost 16 and I realized I had never bought 'her' her own horse???? She asked me not to ride it so that she could see if she could do the work on one and have any success. They did fabulously so I stayed off. Roles have reversed, now I'm scheming how to 'borrow' daughter's horse... :) Let's see.... she goes to college in a year and a half....... LOL!
Yes, feel blessed. Oldest daughter didn't stay hooked, youngest daughter has and we have much more fun together.
