Location: Kansas | I saw several ideas on TV this morning like rolling up a t-shirt, putting rubber bands around the ends and then placing them behind your ears to hold the t-shirt up but that didn't look comfortable. Tried a bandana which seems like a good idea but they're heavy and suffocating and slip. Same for the cheapo little masks that I use for mowing. Then I tried a plain ole dishtowel, t-towel like have been around for decades and this worked great. Big, white, easily washed, easy to breathe through, layer as you like, and simple to tie in the back. Plus you might not look quite so frightening at the grocery store. Welcoming any ideas. |

| I chopped the neck off one of my turtle necks I never wear. It's nice and soft and easy to breathe through but it's going to get mighty hot when the weather starts getting warmer. |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | I have motorcycle face masks that I use for when I'm shredding my pastures. Some are kinda creepy but I like them, a couple are the skull ones, lol. |

Location: CTX | Wild rags are nice to wear, not hot or heavy. We also have buffs, that I use when it's dry and dusty. They are not very thick, so not sure how good it works. But it's better than nothing. Also, they come in a lot of fun designs. |

| On the news, they suggested we use a material with a "tight weave" for a mask....something other than the loose waffle towel type weave or whatever it is called. Supposedly that material will allow "particles" through it. |

| People should try to use a thick or doubled over scarf or ski/face mask with the neoprene breath deflector sewn shut. Easy peasy

| Got to work this morning and got in trouble for not having a mask on. I personally think its absolutely stupid that I have to wear one when I have NO CONTACT with anyone outside the building. And I locked the door so noone can just walk in. I work in Dallas co so its an order or some BS that the county judge has put in place. Thank God I keep a wild rag in my truck or I would be screwed. I cannot stand anything over my face so Im wearing it and if anyone happens to walk by, I'll pull it up over my face. I still look like a bank robber. I am over the panic. So over it all. Tomorrow I will bring my face shield I wear when riding in the winter. |

News just said this morning that 50 PERCENT of people who are infected have NO symptoms. You could be one of them. By covering your face it slows the spread to others. |

Location: South Texas | I have tried bandanas & the paper type face masks and I can't wear them. I've tried several times and it just ain't gonna happen. We aren't in a county that is mandatory for face masks so I'm lucky there. My thinking is if the face coverings they are suggesting aren't good enough to keep you from getting the virus then how is it going to stop you spreading the virus? I have just had enough of this whole mess anyway. |

Location: Kansas | I watched the surgeon general with his idea. You roll a cloth or bandana to where it will fit over your mouth and nose comfortably. Put a coffee filter (or half a filter) in the middle as you do this. Fold over the ends and put a rubber band on each end so it will fit over your ears. Big heavier rubber bands work best. I had to experiment with it for a while but it works well at least long enough to do my grocery shopping. Have to admit the filter makes breathing a little tougher than just a bandana. I hope if I faint from lack of air it's in the cookie section. |

Location: Where the buffalo roam | I don't go anywhere except work and we've all been together for a month and a half so I haven't needed to wear one. I CANNOT wear anything that goes over my nose - even my winter mask for riding has the nose open at the bottom so I can breathe. Goes back to when I was a kid and my nose just has to be uncovered (long story). The wild rag thing may be the way to go if I absolutely have to wear one, but then it will only be for a very short time. When Mt. St. Helens blew we had a lot of the ash and were told to wear bandannas or masks. I could barely make it from one building to the next on campus! |

I now ride horses with a gir - her dad works in our field and we sometimes work cases together - they were on Spring Break and decided to just rent a house where they were at and not come back to Dallas for a while. Lucky them!

By covering your face it slows the spread to others. Yeah, there is so much conflicting information. I clicked on an article the other day that also, out to the side, included "helpful" protocol - both from the CDC and the WHO -- so right on the same page, one charted protocol says wear face masks regardless of how you feel. The other said where face mask if you are showing symptoms to prevent the spread to others. That wasn't the point of the article, but I just happened to notice it.
