| There's a theme that makes its way through the book of Ecclesiastes. From the human perspective, life seems so unbearably empty. Power, popularity, prestige, pleasure: none can fill the God-shaped void in man's life but God Himself. When we can VIEW LIFE FROM God's perspective, left takes on meaning and purpose, causing Solomon to entreat us to eat, drink, and REJOICE, do good, live joyfully , fear God, and KEEP His commmandments! Skepticism and despair melt away when life is viewed as a daily gift from God. Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived, is contrasting a self centered liftysyle, one of self indulgence, with a God CENTERED LIFE. Hear the question it shouts from the text, CAN PURPOSE FOR LIFE BE FOUND IN NATURE, MONEY, SELF INDULGENCE, PROPERTY, position, INTELLIGENCE, PHILOSOPHY OR RELIGIOUS OBSERVANCE? Solomon wil quickly come to the conclusion at the end of his wealth and fame that life is empty and without purpose if it's without God. Meaningless appears on every page of life. There MUST BE MORE. There's God, and we can know Him and HIS PURPOSE for our life journey. Futility of life can be replaced with the FULLNESS of a Father's love. Ecclesiastes 1:1-11. Father God, guide me today to DO ALL things that will bring. GLORY and HONOR TO You AMEN FOR IT IS WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE Matthew 19:26 |
