Anyone else heard about this new incentive? Looks similar to Pink or Ruby Buckle.  Just came across info on it today and starting to read up.  Thought I would check with the gurus here.  Sooo many incentive options these days.

I have a yearling that qualifies. She also qualifies for the Ruby Buckle that I have paid in for this year and plan to pay in every year. I am on the fence on paying the $1,250.00 for a yearling.

I have a breeding contract for my mare for the same stallion for 2021. I will probably pay in the $250.00 for a weanling on my next foal.

I can only afford so much on top of the stud fees, shipping fees, etc.

This program certainly looks well thought out.  One thing I find interesting is that they are claiming they will post financials at the end of each year.  If people start seeing how much PB is taking they will have less of a following.  At the end of the day, the best stallions are still going to produce the most money.  Which in my opinion is why PB was started, a way to boost stallion produce earnings.  A short sighted end.

I thought they were going to grandfather the older ones in? I haven't done much checking yet. I only saw something in passing, so I may be wrong. I don't have anything that is eligible yet. I hopefully will have a foal in 2022 that will be

What I saw said that any age can be enrolled for $250 until 2021. But who knows, things get lost in translation on FB daily. I don't do incentives so it doesn't matter to me

I had seen somewhere would post financials too!  While I appreciate transparency, I also understand business is business.  I would never ask any company to show me their financials ... what are they trying to prove by providing those to the public?  (I am truly asking because I don't understand the 'why').

I agree with you on business but... when people pay into something they expect to get something in return.  For all the non-earners, they are going to be ****ed when they see PB taking $500K (I have no idea what the nubmer is) out of the program instead of expanding payouts.  The transparency keeps the programs effiecient.

Publicly traded company release their earnings statements quarterly to provide transparency to thier shareholders and customers. I would completely support these incentives showing their financial statements at their discretion. The more that jump on this trend, the more the others will follow suit which would help the industry as a whole as far as the incentive game goes. You would be a more educated breeder, buyer, seller if you know which incentives truly are the ones that pay out the best they possibly can for those involved. Not just the hot new fad in my humble opinion.

Also, let it be known that I do not breed horses and have one eligible for incentives so I am just sharing my thoughts from being in the financial industry moreso than the horse industry. With all these new incentives cropping up they have to set themselves apart in some way and sharing information that is publicly available in other industries is one way to do that.

I work in the commercial insurance industry and I deal with many large business who do not release their financial information and should they (say for insurance purposes) it is to be held highly confidential.  I guess that is the way I had viewed financials. I will also note my clients are not publicly traded.

I do see the point of knowing how much is being held back vs could be paid out... but, also keeping in mind they have a right to make money too.

I appreciate both of your and Whiteboy replies!

Enrolling my Cachaca Flit X Reds Western Native 2 year old. I don't normally care about enrollment eligibility mainly because I ride mostly cow horses anyway but it is nice when you already have something that becomes eligible. Even if I don't keep her , being paid in should sound snazzy in a sale ad.

I don’t believe any of these run a “not for profit” portfolio, but for the sake of those paying the fees it would be worth venturing a % payout/takeback. I think it holds all parties accountable for what they are trying to promote. Nobody should be doing this for free, as I can’t imagine the time spent behind the scenes to organize an event of this magnitude BUT people deserve to know how much of their fees are going to the pot and how much for administration costs. I don’t think anyone has any issue with admin and costs of doing business.

Its another incentive and I am interested to see the payouts of the individual qualifying events and their locations.  That will help me decide who I pay in because we have...

Me- First Down French 6YO (RB/Breeders Challenge), a Triple Vodka 3YO (RB/Breeders Challenge), a The Goodbye Lane weanling (PB/RB/Breeders Challenge), a Mr Sassy Frenchman in utero (PB/RB), and a breeding to Blazin Jetolena for 2021 (PB/RB/Breeders Challenge)

My sister has a French Streakin Jess 3YO (RB/Breeders Challenge), an Epic Leader in utero (RB/Breeders Challenge) and a Slick By Design in utero (PB/RB/Breeders Challenge)...

I also wonder what the competition will look like with 100 enrolled stallions.. That is one of the nice things about pink buckle is it is a bit exclusive. This one, definitely feels like itll be a knife fight to qualify for their finale.  But thats how all races are I guess!!

You really think PB is easier besause of the smaller sire pool?  I've wondered what people thought about that.

No, I don't think it's easier competition.  But it pays more places and you don't have to go through the qualifiers for a chance at their big payout. Which, to me, is easier than banking that I'll place in the top 5 in the open Ds or top 10 in the Futurity to then have a chance at the big finale money. That's the only thing I struggle with.  But the positive is, there's multiple events to win money through the year and all your eggs arent in one basket. So, there's their positive.

I have a yearling and understood from the stallion owner that he would be in for $250 this year only.

everything has until Dec 2021 to be grandfathered in for a one time enrollment of $250, unless they are competition age then they must have the enrollment paid prior to their first event.  When they first started making posts, stallion owners were telling people December of 2020, but that changed. IDK if Breeders Challenge just realized it was too short of notice to expect people to come up with it or what. But I'm glad it gives me a bit more time to get them enrolled.
