Any who...
I married into the military, baby, life yadda yadda yadda
Mommas, finally getting back in the saddle and I'm starting all over. I was raised in the south east swamp lands and am now living in the south west deserts of Arizona. We'll be moving to Phoenix this summer and I'd like to have a game plan before I buy a horse and have zero clue how to feed it out here. Any tips and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Ideally I would love to feed a good quality hay based diet and then supplement where needed. Is that possible here??? Back home everyone just feeds their horses a crap ton of sweet feeds and throws them a couple flakes of grass hay and maybe an alfalfa flake if they can find/afford it.
many tips, tricks and opinions are greatly appreciated
I'm not to far from Phoenix and plan to retire not to far from there. AZ is HAY country. The best alfalfa, grass hay, etc you could ever want year round. You won't have a problem with a hay based diet at all.
Awesome!! Thank you!!
The alfalfa is cheaper than the grass hay.....most peeps feed more alfalfa than grass.
