The Capitol police moved 5000 to a parking garage, one bathroom with two toilets.  Cold floor 38 degrees.  I think they've been moved back to the Capitol because of the backlash.  Republicans governors are calling them back home.  I can't figure out why they're still there anyway.  Is the old fool still scared?

It's all about optics.  It's backfiring, especially with stories like this.  Abbott and DeSantis are calling their national guard troops back home.

I've slept a lot worse places than a parking garage floor.

Remember when they were sent to protect Washington DC from rioters and Nancy Pelosi called them "storm troopers" and said they didn't look like military.  They were given rooms at hotels and Mayor BowWow had them evicted.  Think liberal.

They are our military and should not have to sleep in a cold garage while in their own country, especially when they are there only to satisfy the whimsy of an out of control government trying to create trouble that was never real. They deserve better than that.

I did alot of sleeping on the ground while camping and have slept in back of horse trailers (no living quarters) but I think what the Dems did to the National Guards was uncalled for, heck they treat criminals better then this. They were there to protect, doing their duty and treated very badly, and for what?!!! Like GLP said this is their homeland and should have been treated much much better for doing a job.. The Dems are selfish and their True Colors keep showing up.

I read that they realized that most of the military voted for Trump, so that made them dangerous (rolls eyes)

That's why they had them all 'vetted'

Also probably why they were treated like dogs, and had to sleep in the garage.

Empathy and compassion and unity is what they campaigned on....where is that now?

Or only for their own party?  And they wonder why we are SO DIVIDED!

Military family

"Mom"

50005000100100100100

The Military should  not be politiczed.  This story was for me.. was rather a non story.  The troops were not in the garage long.  What I  find more appauling is the lack of concern from both political parties for the diseases that Veteran's are dying from due to the toxins and burn pits they have been exposed to by the endless wars.

The conflicts in the Mid East countries continues, and so does the alarming rate of cancers and rare illnesses among the Veterans of the Global War on  Terror.   It seems  insincere  ( and appauling)  to me that the politicians can have a fit about troops in a garage but will keep our soliders in the endless wars, exposed to health risks ( besides insider attack risks and others)

The Obama/Biden Administration paid billions to Iran (which they used to build IED's that blew up our men)   Not to mention the lack of funding for training and equipment that actually kill more than actual combat.   It remains to be seen if Biden Admin continues the troop drawdown in Afghanistan.  Because of the millions if not billions  of dollars that corporations like Boeing and Raytheon contriube to the Democrats it is my prediction the Industrial War Complex which thrive during the Biden Administration.   Remember...war is a business besides being a defense of our country.  Prove me wrong.

And on side note...our friend Ryan Davis received his Purple Heart last week.  He lost both legs and one arm from and Irainian made IED attack in Afghanistan.   I am more outraged that the regime that built that IED will not be held accountable for it's actions than I am about troops sitting in a garage.

Your thoughts?  Obviously I feel very strongly about our Veterans.Great topic - thanks for posting it.

But, but  Jill Biden brought them cookies!     I mean, that helps everyone feel all snuggly, right?? Even on a cement floor in a parking garage??

I'm sorry, the fact that they vetted them prior and are forcing them to protect them because they know people are ****ed seems like it goes against what they military is to be used for.   The military should be used for outside threats.  Not to keep the insider jack wads safe to do their destruction of the country.

I agree with you and have to some of what you said was new to me. Maybe it's time we start looking at how our military is treated and maybe focus some of our political outrage on helping them. Thank you.
